Meet up point. 6:45 AM I would like to be leaving this area at 7 AM from here we are about an hour and 50 minutes from the mine

This is a pull out next to a dirt parking lot along the side of the road. We will meet up here to sign the field trip list. And then we can caravan to the mine. If you would like to just meet everybody at the mine that is up to you. But just let somebody from the group know beforehand. There is no cell phone service at the mine.

Bring bucket, rock hammer, pick, chisels, food and water . and a roll of paper towels to keep what you find nicely cushion so you don’t break the crystals. It is also helped me in the past to bring egg cartons to protect your more fragile pieces.
AGAIN  FYI There is NO cell service out there.
Plan accordingly

Mine location: we will be driving in from the  Martinez Lake area coming in from the south

I have included a screenshot of the proper route to take it is the blue line circled in red. I have gone and tried to take the back way from the north it will not work!!

Here are some highlights…

They now require: SAFETY GLASSES, HARDHATS AND CLOSED TOE FOOT WEAR IS MANDATORY FOR ALL COLLECTORS ON ALL RED CLOUDMINE/RC MINES LLC/ PROPERTY. NO EXCEPTIONS! This rule does not

apply to tourists who are taking a surface tour or purchasing specimens at the main complex. When I was there before they did have hardhats that you could use if you don’t have your own.

We are going to have a great time. There’s lots to collect they also do have beautiful specimens on site most of the time that are for sale again it’s cash only and the last time I was there they also had T-shirts if anyone was interested. –
See you all there Elley 🙂
