Lake Havasu Gem & Mineral Society

Who We Are

The Lake Havasu Gem & Mineral Society of Lake Havasu City, Arizona is a non-profit organization, dedicated to educating our members and the community about gems, minerals, and fossils. Our objective and purpose are to:

  1. Increase our appreciation of the beauty and value of the land in which we live.
  2. Foster good fellowship among its members.
  3. Host an annual Gem and Mineral Show for the community.
  4. Foster awareness of the earth sciences by:
    a. Increasing knowledge pertaining to minerals, gems, and rocks.
    b. Disseminating knowledge of collecting and classification of minerals, fossils and rock through collection and classification.
    c. Improving the practical knowledge of cutting, grinding and polishing materials touse in the design and creation of jewelry and other useful objects.
  5. Provide educational scholarships in the scientific fields.
  6. Procure and improve the Society’s property.

We offer students scholarships who are interested in pursuing courses in Earth sciences.  Apply at the Career Center at Lake Havasu High School


Monthly meetings are held the second Friday of the month, excluding June, July, and August. Meetings are held at the:

(Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. with visiting starting at 6:30 p.m.)



Membership is open to anyone 18 years old or older that is residing full or part-time in Lake Havasu City or surrounding areas. Children of members, who are 12 years old or older, may join as Junior Members.

Applications are not available online. An application may be obtained at any monthly meeting.


The Lake Havasu Gem & Mineral Society is associated with the:

Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies (RMFMS)

and the

American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS)
